Open Doors Academy is an out-of-school enrichment program seeking to advance educational equity by protecting, inspiring, nurturing, and challenging their scholars.

Each summer, Little Jacket spends a week with a group of ODA scholars to collaborate on the organization’s annual report. This year, scholars showed a distinct lack of inhibition to get involved and ask questions big and small, leading us to the theme of the report: That’s a good question.

The overall tone of the report is bold, reflecting the scholars’ curiosity throughout our week together. The neon green is bright and attention-grabbing, balanced out with crisp white and full-color photography. More energy is added through dynamic cropping, overlapping elements, and a contrast in scale. The typography—mixing a lively sans serif with an editorial serif—is exciting but grounded, matching the spirit of our scholars and the validity of their inquiries.

With a big concept and a bold design that can’t be ignored, the 2023–2024 report prompts donors to ask themselves: “How can I make an even greater impact next year?”
